The Written Word – Country View Challenges

Hello! This month it is my turn to pick the challenge theme and I have chosen ‘The Written Word’. I love seeing text in artwork, whether it be printed papers, stencilled or stamped words, or hand written journalling. Text draws the eye in and can convey extra meaning and mood.

For my first project this month I have created a journal page with stamped and stencilled words.

I spread blue and silver acrylic paint over my paper with an old credit card and allowed to dry before stamping all over with a Seth Apter text stamp and bright pink Archival Ink. I used DecArt Media Clear Modelling paste through an Andy Skinner text stencil and set aside to dry.

Meanwhile I stamped the Dina Wakely figure stamp, and Paper Artsy sentiments onto some offcuts of the painted paper. I matted the sentiments onto black card and doodled a border with a white gel pen.

Once the modelling paste was dry I glued my stamped elements in place and added some bright pink accents with a chalk marker.
