I am excited to announce that I have joined the wonderful Design Team at Country View Challenges. Today sees my first challenge post for them, and the theme is Christmas (with the option of Red, Green, and Rust). I have created a pretty vintage shrine for my inspiration piece:
I assembled the MDF shrine and coated with white gesso. Once dry I added some patterned papers to the inside and around the front frame. Some coarse texture paste added a snowy feel, and gilding wax gave a warm golden glow to the edges.
My Tim Holtz Idea-ology tree was a little to fat to sit neatly inside the shrine so I used scissors to trim off some of the buk at the back, creating a flatter back that fitted better. I added white gesso, silver and gold micro beads and Glamour Dust glitter to create a magical feel to the tree.
I found a laser cut wooden word and a mini pinecone cluster in my Christams stash, and used gesso, texture paste, micro beads, glitter and gilding wax to match them to the other elements.
Finally I added the Tim Holtz Paper Doll image, and my shrine was complete.
I hope you enjoyed looking at my project for today, I love the mix of white, cream, silver and gold – it is so wintery!! Please pop over to the Country View Challenges blog and join in with us for a chance to win £20 to spend in the Country View Crafts shop.
