Decoupage Pen Storage with DecoArt

A quick post today from me showing my latest upcycled project – a pen storage box. It only takes a few DecoArt products to totally transform a dull and outdated object into something bright and modern!

It began life as a plain pine storage unit from Ikea, but I gave it a facelift with DecoArt’s classy foiled decoupage papers and some vibrant pink accents.

I love this set of Decou-Page papers – the black and white designs have subtle silver foiled accents, and the typography theme fitted well with the box’s purpose.

I began by giving the whole piece a coat of white gesso and allowed it to dry before applying the papers with Decou-Page Matte.

I used Neon Pink Multi Surface Satin paint to accent the top edge of the box – it really lifts the design having that bright pop of colour!

I love how this turned out – much brighter with a modern twist than the original wood finish!

Thanks for stopping by – I hope you enjoyed looking!
