This week’s prompt in the Joggles Art Journal Adventure group is to use horizontal and vertical elements on our page. I had a cool little grid design mask from Paper Artsy that I wanted to use for this.
I positioned the mask on the page and spritzed with Kaisermist in Winter Grey, I then flipped it over onto another area and pressed to create a negative image. Then I repeated the process to fill the page.
I die cut some arrows using Xcut mini dies then ‘extended’ them into lines by cutting narrow strips of black card. I arranged these to create my strong horizontal and vertical elements.
The little squares are drawn through a Creative Expressions mini stencil with a fineliner.
The ‘Here’ arrow is a Balzer Mini mask which I applied Black Soot Distress Ink through.
Now, this arrow had to be pointing at something….and that is the big scary spider that I cut from the Joggles Collage Sheets Halloween Shades of Grey. I’m not very neat at cutting detail so I left a bit of a border around the spider (so he didn’t lose any legs!!). I then used some Pumice Stone Distress Ink to knock back the whiteness of the paper. Once glued in place I drew in his spider silk thread, and added some black and white lines to the arrows.
I finished by adding some colour with Broken China Distress Oxide ink and Joggles Background Noise Dots stamp.
