Upcycled Vase using DecoArt Paints

I recently picked up this vase from a local project that sells second hand and scrap products that would otherwise go to landfill. I was attracted by the shape and thought it wuld be perfect for a makeover with some DecoArt paints.

I gave the vase a thorough clean to make sure the surface was grease free. The DecoArt Americana Chalky Finish for Glass paint is ideal for glazed surfaces too, so I gave it two coats of Timeless, allowing the first one to dry overnight before adding the second.

Once this was completely dry I took the DecoArt Americana decor Metallics in Rose Gold and loaded my brush so I could get the paint to drip down the sides of the vase randomly. As this was applied thickly, I gave it a good 24 hours drying time.

Metallics are still a hot trend in interiors and this vase is bang up to date with it’s new look.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you have been inspired to do a bit of upcycling of your own!
