Vintage Hydrangea Sprite

I have several hydrangeas in my garden which flower all summer in shades of pink, white and green…. I would love one to bear blue blooms but I don’t have the right type of soil so I must make do with what I have!!

I have coloured this pretty little Aurora Wings sprite image in sepia and blue tones – I love how the colours slowly fade from hydrangeas as the season passes, until all that remains are skeleton petals. The colours that I have used remind me of this…

I coloured the image with Copics and Promarkers, adding some extra shading with Polychromos pencils. The Graphic 45 Botanic Tea Party papers were perfect companions.

  4. Just gorgeous, Teresa! I love how you chose to color the Sprite.
I always let my hydrangeas fade into skeletal petals before I clip them from the plant. I’ve tried to save them but they kind of just turn to dust. Still beautiful, though.

  5. Absolutely stunning. Your colouring is just fantastic and the leaves on the sprite are gorgeous with lovely colours that set it off so well. Have a good weekend hun.
