666 – The Number of the Beast

The crazy folks at Haunted Design House have come up with a corker of a theme once again, and I have already entered a (light hearted) project into their challenge. I wanted to do something a little bit darker as well and have spent quite a while trying to decide what to do.

I think that my psychic struggling reached the devilish Teri Sherman as last night she released some cool backing papers and I finally got my project off the ground!

666 bag 003 (798x800)

Although at first glance this looks like a demonic handbag, it is in fact a Maya Road chipboard book (in a bag!). The inside isn’t done yet – I’m hoping to maybe fill a few pages during Smudgefest this year.

I covered the outside with the amazing 666 paper, adding a strip of matted card and paper through the centre for a bit extra interest. I used Cosmic Shimmer Lilac Black UTEE on some of the edges because I love the rich metallic sheen.

The book/bag fastens with some self adhesive velcro and I added a cool Iron Maiden ‘Eddie’ skull to the front with red gems in his eyes. I ran a black marker around the edges to tidy things up a bit.

I’m looking forward to getting on with the contents soon!

I am entering this into the following challenges:

Haunted Design House – 666 The Number of the Beast

Unstampabelles – Mixed Media/Alter Something

Penny’s Challenges – Embossing

Altered Eclectics – Anything Goes

  1. Whoa! That’s just WAY cool! already nabbed Teri’s fab paper, eh? sure looks amazing on this project and that Utee is freakin’ fabulous. Thanks for daring to join our 666 Challenge AGAIN! at HDH. xxD

  2. Love, love, love it! Not too many takers for this chalene, so it’s nice to see some of you entering more than once. Eddie as the centerpiece is perfection! And those new papers! Awesome!
Thanks for being brave enough to play in the dungeon with us at HDH.

  3. Theresa, this is a wonderful altered object – love that purple, so rich. However, there is a limited amount of mixed media involved here, and really, our challenge was to use mixed media, while the TWIST was to alter something, so I am sorry, – I am afraid it will not be eligible for a prize. However, we do love the fact that you shared this with us at Unstampabelles, and already my brain is whirling with things I can edge UTEE in………

  4. Yep, Teri sure came up trumps again with her papers and this is a fabulous way of using them. Looking forward to seeing the finished product with the smudgefest projects. Thank you for sharing your art again with our 666 challenge and good luck

  5. Such a beautiful creation – Thank you for sharing over at Altered Eclectics this month and hope to see you in future challenges
